Meizu Pro 6 review

Meizu's Pro 6 looks slick and performs well, but it can't beat competitors like OnePlus and ZTE.

The Meizu Pro 6 isn’t perfect, but for less than $400, it’s a decent nice phone. It would be nice to see a slightly better camera and a better battery, but for 2,499 yuan, which equates to around $375, it has a lot to offer.

Meizu's smartphone sacrifices Android functionality for Apple aesthetics

The Meizu Pro 6 is the latest iClone out of China. It's got good hardware for a relatively low price, but an uninspired design makes the phone unsatisfying to use.

The Meizu Pro 6's 10-core processor delivers speedy non-gaming performance, the phone has premium touches like USB-C and a fingerprint sensor and its sub $400 price is relatively cheap.

A jarring copycat iPhone design, poor gaming performance and awkward navigation that makes the Pro 6 clumsy to use.

The Meizu Pro 6 packs impressive specs into a relatively cheap frame, but it loses key Android functionality in its attempt to look like an iPhone.

The Meizu PRO 6 Review

Meizu is hard at work carving out a niche for itself in its increasingly competitive home market. One of the smaller Chinese OEMs based on sales volume, it considers design and build quality as core strengths. Because of this attention to detail, and...

The PRO 6 is not a clear upgrade over the PRO 5 nor does it separate itself far enough from the less expensive Meizu MX6. Its only real advantage over Meizu’s other phones is a smaller, easier to handle size, and its few strengths are not enough to...

Meizu PRO 6 Review Part I: The Galaxy iPhone missing link

We have a smartphone here that exists in the space between the top two mobile device makers in the world: Samsung and Apple. This is the Meizu PRO 6 , a device whose hardware and software find themselves at a point near smartphone singularity - where...

Meizu Pro 6 Review

From hardware design, to functionality, to the heavily modified Android-based platform, the Pro 6 is a smartphone that feels like it was created from a singular vision intent on capturing some of that iPhone magic by following as close in Apple's...

Unparalleled Apple imitation job ; Deca-core SoC has a lot of potential ; Very fast recharge times ; Speedy fingerprint scanner

Difficult-to-navigate Android interface ; Really uneven performance ; Questionable multitasking from a 4GB RAM phone ; Limited LTE band support

The Meizu Pro 6 is one weird, weird phone, and it's not immediately clear who it's designed for. Ex-Apple users who can't resist the call of Android but still crave a familiar interface? Ardent Android fans who appreciate phones that break from the...

Meizu Pro 6: 4 Things you need to know

New to South Africa, Meizu makes a strong first impression with the Pro 6.

Great build quality, solid specs, stylish overall look and feel, SmartTouch functionality works well

Flyme UI so-so, cuts off certain background apps,

Although the Meizu Pro 6’s one-button design is not as a compelling a feature as, say two lenses (Huawei P9), a dual-edge screen (Samsung S7 edge), an ‘extra’ screen (LG V20), or a modular design (LG G4), overall it comes across as a stylish flagship,...

Meizu Pro 6 reviewed: will this Chinese flagship Ameizu?

The Meizu Pro 6 is the brand's first flagship to hit SA, but the slick interface and brisk performance is undone by a ho-hum camera and small battery.

A slick one button navigation system, great manual mode and relatively brisk performance makes the Meizu Pro 6 stand out. But it could definitely do with much better low-light photos, an HDR mode that doesn’t suck, preinstalled Google services and a...

Meizu Pro 6 review

What does the latest flagship from Meizu bring to the table and does it pick up where past devices left off? We find out, in this Meizu Pro 6 review!

Premium aluminium design ; Good AMOLED screen ; 3D Touch ; Fast and accurate fingerprint scanner ; Great speaker quality ; USB Type C and fast charging

Lackluster camera ; Flyme OS will take some getting used to ; Battery life could be better ; No expandable storage

The Meizu Pro 6 offers a mixed bag when it comes to a great smartphone experience. The device gets a lot right, such as the build quality, the display features, an extremely fast and accurate fingerprint scanner, and a great sounding speaker. However,...
