Motorola Moto G (2015, Unlocked)

The new Motorola Moto G doesn't cost much for an unlocked handset, and it's all the smartphone many people will need.

Excellent battery life. Elegant software. Customizable. Durable. Loud earpiece.

Not the strongest signal. Somewhat tinny speakers.

Comparisons and Conclusions Just as previous versions, the Moto G sets the standard for low-end smartphones. Motorola focuses on a simple, clean experience and doesn't try to differentiate just for the hell of it. Your Moto G will run the latest...

Motorola Moto G (2015) review

Motorola updated its popular budget Moto G smartphone in 2014 with a larger 5-inch display, an improved camera and expandable storage. Oddly, however, the company removed a critical feature that had been present in the preceding model: 4G LTE.

The Motorola Moto G's big, bright screen makes movies more immersive, the pure Android Lollipop experience is easy to use and both the camera and the battery put in decent performances.

Processor power is underwhelming, even for a budget phone, which makes operation sluggish at times.

The big screen, 4G LTE data speeds and low price make the Motorola Moto G a solid choice both for people who want to watch movies on the move and for smartphone newbies.

Moto G 4G (2nd Gen) review

Motorola's budget barnstormer gets 4G and a bigger battery

Clear, natural-looking screen ; Smooth design ; Low-bloat software

Very slow app loads ; CPU is slightly dated

It’s the Moto G hardware we know and love, but its latest software spoils its performance

Motorola Moto G 2nd Gen Smartphone Review

Update Lite. Motorola's Moto G2 mid-range smartphone had picked up a good rating in our test, but it did not feature LTE. The manufacturer has eliminated this drawback in its new edition, and has installed the latest, supposedly faster Android Lollipop...

LTE, Android 5.0 Lollipop, update to 5.1 announced, Non-slip casing, Removable back covers, Decent stereo speaker, Useful cameras, Good battery life, Bright, very color accurate screen, Decent Wi-Fi reception, Gaming suitable, Splash-water proof, FM radio

No dual-SIM (in contrast to the precursor), Middling performance, Non-removable battery, Pressure-sensitive casing, Tight internal storage, GPS sluggish and sometimes inaccurate, 720p videos only, No power supply included

The same verdict applies to Motorola's Moto G 2nd Gen G4 as for the Moto G2 UMTS model. The significant modifications are LTE, the brighter but overall only marginally better screen (production deviation?), and the storage's considerably faster...

Moto G 2nd Gen review – now with Android 5.0 and 4G

With its large screen, improved camera and 4G support, the 2nd Gen Moto G is one of the best budget smartphones you can buy

The Moto G 2nd Gen is still a great bargain. It's a £140 phone that gives a surprising number of £200-plus mid-range handsets a real run for their money, and in most cases actually beats them hands down in terms of overall value. The Vodafone Smart...

New Moto G 4G 2015 review: A poor successor to the best budget phone ever

If you're looking for a cheap 4G smartphone then the Moto E 4G is the best deal on the market right now. If you would rather have a cheap dual-SIM phone with 3G connectivity then the mark 3 Moto G is your best bet. But the new Moto G 4G for 2015 is not...

Motorola Moto G (2015) review: Big, budget 4G phones don't come much better than this

Brilliant budget Moto G is better with 4G LTE, but pricier

Its only downsides were a lack of expandable storage and no 4G LTE. In the UK, that wasn't much of a problem as 4G was still very new and still rather expensive. In the US, 4G was much more common, so its omission was more of an issue. Motorola has...

The Motorola Moto G has one of the best screens you can get for the price, plenty of power for the everyday essentials, an easy to use, near-stock version of Android KitKat and the addition of 4G LTE and expandable storage are extremely welcome

The camera isn't up to anything more than the odd snap in good lighting, and the addition of 4G LTE means its once "unbelievable bargain" price is now only "good value

Although the Motorola Moto G with 4G LTE is a bit pricier than its 3G-only sibling, it still has one of the best displays in the budget arena, its processor makes operation enjoyably smooth and its rounded, compact body is both comfortable and...

Moto G 2015: The best Android experience around $200 can buy

Can a phone priced around $200 rival other handsets that cost four to five times more? Surprisingly, yes if that phone is the 2015 Moto G.

Great overall experience for the price and provides many flagship attributes including a much improved camera.

Missing a few nice-to-haves, such as NFC, a gyroscope and wireless charging.

Motorola Moto G 4G (2015) | Moto G 2 with 4G review

Motorola does it again with a top-value phone, and now it has 4G

Running the latest version of Android, as all new Motorola phones do, there aren’t any great surprises with the Moto G 2’s software. Making the decision to install a clean version of Android 5 Lollipop with only a hint of Motorola dusting is, as...
